TITHES and OFFERING : BIBLE TEACHING CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC 1

TOPIC : TITHES and OFFERING :

A Controversial Teaching with Different Interpretations :

LET US LEARN THE UNLEARN :

They said, no more tithing written and order in the New Testament

Is there really an order or a command to Tithe in the New Testament ?
Let Jesus our Lord and Savior be the one to answer this question :

CHRIST COMMAND US TO TITHE EVEN IN THE NEW TESTAMENT :

SOME PREACHERS QUOTED ONLY "Render unto Caesar" ABOUT TAXATION
BUT JESUS ASK THEM TWO (2) QUESTIONS AND JESUS IS ALSO THE ONE WHO ANSWERED THAT 2 QUESTIONS :

THESE ARE : " Whose is this image and superscription ? "

Matthew 22:17-20  King James Version (KJV)
17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.

FROM THAT 2 QUESTIONS THAT THE LORD IS ALSO THE ONE WHO ANSWERS THEM, IT IS NOT ONLY ABOUT TAXATION FOR CAESAR HE ANSWERED :
1st Question : Whose is this image ?
He Commanded " So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s "
BUT ALSO TITHE TO GOD :
2nd Question : and superscription ?

JESUS also commanded " and to God what is God’s " - THE TITHE !

Superscription is something written or engraved on the surface of, outside, or above something else ( The Tithe ), but the image is Caesar ( Stands for Government Taxation ).

VERY CLEAR THAT THERE IS WRITTEN TO TITHE IN THE NEW TESTAMENT AS WHAT THE LORD JESUS SAID :

“give unto God the things that are God's” ( a Compulsory )

HERE IS ANOTHER VERSE FOR CLARIFICATION REFERRING TO GIVING THAT YOU MUST SEPARATE AN AMOUNT FROM YOUR INCOME :

1 Corinthians 16: 2  New International Version (NIV)
2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.

It is written that you have to set aside the sum of money in keeping with your income.

WHAT IS THAT SET ASIDE SUM OF MONEY ?
THE TITHE ( 10% ) and THE OFFERING + COLLECTIONS ( from your 90% )

ANOTHER VERSE :

2 CORINTHIANS 9: 7 New International Version (NIV)
7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Meaning: decided
Decided comes from the verb decide. If something has been decided, the question has been answered. So when we use decided as an adjective, we mean that there is no question about it. If you have decided political views, you won't be swayed by any debate. Verb decided 1. simple past tense and past participle of decide

PAST TENSE !

There is already a decision made, and that decision is to give the tithe for the Lord and from 90% is how much you decided to give as your offering.

WHAT ELSE ? " not reluctantly or under compulsion "

Not Reluctantly ( Offering ) means hesitation, or unwillingness;
WHY ?
2 Corinthians 9:6 New International Version (NIV)
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
In giving must be Generously not Sparingly (or small amount) giving generously will result in hesitation or unwillingness (reluctant) but remember what is written :  “ Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously”.

THIS IS THE REASON WHY APOSTLE PAUL TEACH US TO GIVE NOT RELUCTANTLY THAT WE MUST BE GENEROUS IN GIVING.
t
Under Compulsion The Tithe )
As what the Lord Jesus said Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's" ( A Compulsion ).

Com·pul·sion : Meaning
/kəmˈpəlSHən/

the action or state of forcing or being forced to do something; constraint. " the payment was made under compulsion"
Similar:
obligation
constraint
force
coercion
duress
pressure

In giving only Tithe is under Compulsion, Why ? “Give unto God the things that are God's” as what Jesus commanded us.

WHAT ELSE ?

You must give with a cheerful heart not reluctantly or under compulsion, for it is a joy to his servants following the Commandments of God :

Psalm 1:2 King James Version (KJV)
But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditates day and night.

Psalm 1:2 King James Version (KJV)
But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

IT IS REALLY A JOY FOLLOWING HIS COMMANDMENT and SAD FOR THOSE NOT …

THIS QUESTION WILL SATISFY YOU THAT TITHING MUST IMPLEMENT TO THE CHURCH :

Who will feed almost 2 Thousand Bible Students and Ministers we have in our Maranatha Bible School, and some are Sacrifice and Probationary staying in the Local Churches as helpers assigned to coordinate with Pastors for the sheep in around Thousand of Local Churches in the Philippines and going to 70 Branches in other Countries Internationally?

All surrendered their lives in order to follow God's calling to spread the Salvation through gospel all over the world, our ministers does not have salary only what they need for living to provide as Ministers of God,
for it is written :

Matthew 19: 29  King JamesVersion (KJV)
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Matthew 10: 37  King James Version (KJV)
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

1 Corinthians 9:14  King James Version (KJV)
Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

It is the Tithes that brought to the Store House ( Church ) and Brethren mold into generous giving that provides everything they need including shelter and food to eat.

Malachi 3:10 King James Version (KJV)
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

MAY GOD ENLIGHTENED YOU FROM THESE WORDS OF TRUTH and MAY ALL HAVING WRONG TEACHING THAT THERE IS NO MORE TITHES IN THE NEW TESTAMENT ALSO BE ENLIGHTENED.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
